New Version Of The Rom Management Tool Romcenter
June 28, 2008 by Hawq
A handy utility to have this one, it allows you to check your roms to see if they are compatible with various emulators, with new dumps sometimes appearing & other changes it makes keeping them up to date a doddle. Yes CLRMamePro does the same thing its just a matter of personal preference as to which one you use but since Romcenter has hit 3.00 final it seems a decent time to try it out perhaps, although if you used the older versions there are some changes now as the old .dat’s don’t work in quite the same immediate way, you have to go into file, new and select ‘load game list from a datafile’ then save the resulting file as they now have the extension .rdt, the release thread explains it all better than I can in one line. Of course before you go there to get it you’ll be wanting the news so here it is:
Bugs fixed:
- drag & drop enabled when no dat loaded
- param form captions to small for some translation
- some log translation not handled
- empty db loaded when an error occur during db creation
- folders with ‘ in name are not loaded
- ‘reload path’ when ‘files roms’ selected does not refresh the status
- Non zipped files not counted in listview status bar
- Non-zipped ‘expected filename’ incorrectly showed when a plugin is used
- ‘fix extension’ option removed (useless and confusing)
- Xml error when loading some no-intro dat
Added:
- help file
- up to date datafiles
- new ‘maws’ online db
- datutil 2.40
