There seems to be a problem with certain games (mainly the DBZ games, I think I may of seen others as well) displaying a "This game is not supported by this hardware" I do a follow-up on any others I may find.

Terry/Jon: What it probably means is that the particular ROM you are trying to run has been programmed to be aware of emulators, and is intentionally shutting itself down since it's not running on a real GBA. blackout312: The language setting is only for the emulator menues and messages. Most ROMs have only one language, and even the ones that have multiple languages have to be switched within the ROM itself while it's running, the emulator can't select it automatically.

It has an error that is fixed in vba 1.6a. It can't speed up correctly like in 1.3. There appears something like frame skip starting when you press speed up binded key(default:SPACE). I set frame skip to 0 and it plays well in normal mode. If you ask; my processor is 2.7 Ghz, video card 128 mb and ram 1 Gb. Also hard disk is 80 GB.

To shawn go to your option and set fram speed, try 750 speed and the game will run smoothly

Will there ever be a section for action replay codes for VBA like there is for GS and CBreakers.

On the Emulator the Z button is the A button, the X button is the B button, the ENTER button is the START button, the BACKSPACE button is the Select button, and the ARROW KEYS are used to move around. That's all the buttons that you pretty much need to know.

Okay... For Pokemon Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire where it says "internal battery has run dry" go to Options>Emulator>Real Time clock

The controls follow:
Z acts as A
X acts as B
A acts as L
S acts as R

For inserting cheat codes go to Cheats>Cheat List then click add code... Mostly only "GAMESHARK" has an [M] code... Code breaker... I think... Then put in [M] then add... Then put in other cheat codes the same way seperately except if they are in a bunch... If there is a button-combo then press the buttons then go to the appropriate screen to check if it worked...

For save help for Pokemon games go to Options>Emulators>Save type>Automatic and Flash 64k!

I played pokemon emerald n got all the way to beatin the elite 4, did that then 'the end' messg apeard like it dus. BUT then wen i tryed continuin to finish 2nd half of game it says summit bout my save file bein corrupt like it did b4 evry time i played the emulator, cept b4 i cud play, but now it dont load!!!

I downloaded te VBA again after that i had deleted the previous one... but now when i tried to load the save game files I get an error: "Unsupported VisualBoyAdvance save game version 9". What's the problem?

It isn't difficult to get the game clock to work in any game.

Just go to Options->Emulator and check "Real Time Clock", and it should work just fine.

I only have problems with Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy, I have 1.7.4 for Mac OS X and when i start ther rom this message comes up:

I am playing Pokemon ruby, but whenever I play, the game usually runs at about 400-600% of the normal speed, and it makes some parts of the game impossible to play, because of the sheer increase in speed.

Does anyone know how to slow the game down so it is more playable?

Try changing the savefile from automatic to EEPROM, close down your emulator and restart it. It was something like this... Just play around with it if this doesn't work, but remember you should use EEPROM only for certain games like DBZ Buu's Fury ;)

Other games use diffirent save types...

Ok, I got this error, you press z and then the main screen comes. You're supposed to be in your room when it loads, but no! it says:
"Save file had been deleted due to corruption"
Something like that. I personally went mad and started crying after that XD but, oh well, I had to restart over and I did.

And I learned the trick: always save with the VBA save FIRST THEN pokemon save with the enter menu. NEVER save after the pokemon save menu if you're planning to close the game or restart it.
Since the THE END does a restart automatically, and I'm sure you guys saved after getting the fame thing, pokemon does NOT recognise the save files in the VBA, only the pokemon ones.

So, beat the elite four, and.. don't save. unless it tells you to. listen to the pretty music and tada! At worst, it will tell you the corrupted file couldn't be loaded and will load the previous file that is the file you want. Keep a save file before the fame place to be safe.

First off, to those of you with the problem: This game won't work on this hardware. (mainly the games Dragonball Gt - Transformation and Dragonball Z Buu's Fury)



This isn't a cpu problem (as one said) and it is not some thing that is not letting you play it because of an emulator. I'm not sure exactly what it is. But I know how to solve it. Go in and change the save type from Automatic to one of the other types and the game will play fine. I think Buu's Fury only works as an EEPRom or an SRam. The same goes with Transformation.



Now for my problem: I just got Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Masters, World Championship Tournament 2k6 and when I start it I get this message



Unsupported BIOS function 0d called from 0810e406. A BIOS file is needed in order to get correct behaviour.

i cant save for my life.it always says error creating save file!?It saves but once i exit the vba its not there and says new game.i tried eveything even tring to put saves from another one.Some one has to know how. And its the only mac emulator.

You need WinRAR to run games. I suggest getting a free trial and keeping it. You can get a free trial by searching with google or whatever search engine you want.

Go to Option>Emulator>Save Type, there try to set to save file type to be FLASH and below save type Flash 128.Also if you have a BIOS file it would be usefull to load it for DBZ : Buus Fury, the rest of DBZ series shouldnt require special picking in your emulation setings.If you done it properly and it still doesent work
then try to find a cracked version of that DBZ rom.

I can see some of you have problems with running Pokemon roms aswell as problems with your emulator speed.Someone has already suggested to increase the throttle of the emulator but that isnt the problem there, you either have a buged game version, a problem on your PC or simply a VBA downloaded from a bad site.I had the same problem with Onimusha Tactics and that was cuz my PC was in bad shape, it could same for you but first try downloading the game again from a more reliable web page or download the emulator from a more reliable page.

This is for the Bios problem which i saw Darkhawk has. My email is messed up at the moment so i cant post or recive emails.Regarding your Bios problem, some roms require BIOS suport. I have sent other messages regarding a few other problems which will probably solve most of em as i have expirienced and solved these which all of you have mentioned so far. I can see many of you have problems putting gameshark codes.Open your emulator, load a rom > cheats > cheat list > Gameshark... , input a descptr. so you know what that code is for and then below that input the code, click ok and i think ( not sure ) you need to start the game from the beggining for the codes to work.Also you need 3 special codes for each rom.Easiest gameshark codes are found at www.gameshark.com where there is also the 3 *Must be on* codes.

As Grolfor said in one of his comments people 'use the forums located at www.emulationhq.com and you'll get a better chance of having your problems fixed' the Faq section in there will hold quite a few answers and if it doesnt and a search of the forums doesnt turn up an answer ask in the VBA forum (or the Pokemon one if its a problem with one of those games) as a fellow admin from that part suggested questions for help with the emulator shall start drying up here now.
By that of course I mean that you should go into the forums for help as this comment section isnt really the place for such requests so requests for help with the emulator will not be likely to get through anymore, many of them ask the same things as covered above anyway & of those that dont many are covered by the Faqs in the forum so head there for help.

If you get a "HARDWARE NOT SUPPORTED" message, then that means you don't have WinRAR (don't ask me how to get it, remember, GOOGLE is your friend!!!). For Pokemon games, OPTIONS>EMULATOR>SAVE TYPE>FLASH 128k(set frame skip to 2). To add AR codes, enter them as a gameshark code, but don't put any spaces in between. Pokemon games clock OPTIONS>EMULATOR>GAME OVERRIDES>REAL TIME CLOCK. To change the joypad configuration, OPTIONS>JOYPAD>CONFIGURE>1...

If your dbz or other game doesn't run on the hardware just open your emulator and go to options,then go to where it says emulator and then go to save type and put it on flash after that your game should work just fine.

i notice that the language can be change and thats pretty hand when you only know a certain language

Or you can also save using the GBA Save Game Feature.

to stop it coming up with that message u need to change the save type file, and it will let u play :D, i had the same problem with DBZ Buu's Fury

to start the emerald, follow the instructions:
1. go to options and press it.
2. press emulator.
3. go to save type.
4. if you see the flash 64k checked, change it to
flash 128k.

for controls: at the top of the screen go to options/joystick/configure and click a configuration it will let you customize it. for anybody who thinks that a computer may be "too" powerful to run this: i have a Pentium 4 with 3 gigahertz and it runs just fine for me.

Drag the game you want to play at the Emulator

Z on comp is A for gba arrows are the d pad and X is B

If you see: "The game cannot run on this hardware." Just go to: Options>Emulator>Save Type

Then change save type to EEPROM+SENSOR

Now should the game work.

open this web site and download the emulator available in this web......now.how to link 2-4 emulators in 1 pc................. open the visualboyadvance.exe 2 times(if you want 2 emulator to link)...also make sure the both of the does not pauses when the emu is in active(to deactivate go to Option>emulator>then uncheck"Pause when inactive window"..........now when there are 2 emulators open(like i said...open 2 emulators, and must be from the same emulator, vbalink,) then when there is 2 emulator, open the GBA file on both of them( ow wait.........go to Option>Link>then uncheck the box that comes before log transfer to file linklog.txt) after opening the file.......ahhhhhhhh......now you can link on your game.......
